One of my best friends has a son almost exactly the same age as Leo, although since he lives in a different state he is in 1st grade instead of kindergarten. Allen is this merry, social little guy and he read this poem to his mother at school recently:
“My Mom”: By Allen Hudson
Dedicated to my fish, my family and my friend SeanMy Mom is a great mom, she cleans our house and makes me food. She always tickles me and takes me to play outside. She plays board games with me. My mom tickles me and makes me laugh. She loves me a lot. My mom is nice and sweet and pretty. My mom takes me to the zoo, she even took me to see the alligators.
About the Author:
My name is Allen Hudson, I am in the first grade at Olive Chapel Elementry. I like to play football at school and after school I like to go to the dentist. When I grow up I am going to be a professional football player.
My favorite part is that he likes to go to the dentist after school. I know she said they give him little presents at the dentist’s office but STILL!!! It just cracked me up. Leo’s would read like this: I like to play with trains at school and after school I like to play with trains. When I grow up I am going to be a trainman. Who knows what Owen would say!
I had the same thought about the dentist. Cute story – although I still like the one about the little girl whose mom told her she was never going to be a princess!
