I’m sure it’s no surprise to those that know me that I’m a sucker for Anthony Bourdain. He’s tall, he cooks, he’s a smart ass even though he’s sentimental and he’s got that rock and roll thing going on. He mentioned Johnny Thunders and the Heartbreakers in his book Kitchen Confidential and dedicated his most recent book to Johnny, Joey and Dee Dee…..I mean, hey…..
Anyway this article about his recent time in Beirut is great. I had read some of his posts on egullet when he was there but this really elaborates on his experiences and does so movingly. The world is just getting scarier and scarier. I worry so about my boys.
I love Bourdain, too. There was a link on the Bookslut blog to an interview with him (in the Washington Post) about Beirut, too. From July 26. I’ll enjoy reading that Salon one…well, “enjoy” isn’t exactly the right word, is it?
This comment editor won’t let me do an HTML link the way I can in Blogger (or I just don’t know how to do it!), so I’m going to ugly-paste this URL to the article in:

Thanks Lisa—I appreciate it!
