I kept waking up in the night last night but everytime I would think ‘oh, tomorrow is Saturday, it’s a long weekend and Judi is here” and happily go back to sleep. It’s a gorgeous morning and really feels like early fall—my favorite kind of weather.

My sister Judi is here and she is being marvelous—I can’t even say what a relief it is to have her kind of take over Mom and Dad for the weekend. She’s being fabulous—-took Dad out for errands yesterday, is over there cleaning right now and is even (and this is VERY hard for my buddhist sister) taking Dad to church tomorrow–and then shopping. Part of me thinks I should relieve her of the church duty but it is SUCH a treat and actually it will make Dad very happy. I suppose if we were really good we’d both go but we both have our limits….

I can’t tell you how relaxed I feel! I feel so light!! Ernie and Judi and I also went out to dinner last night and had a fabulous meal at Kofusion. Absolutely wonderful sushi. The shrimp cakes weren’t quite as good as I remembered but the tempura calimari salad was perfect and the korean dumplings had a wonderful flavor too. I’ve got to remember to go there on Mondays for dollar sushi. I took my camera—thought I would take a picture of us all—forgot—then we went for drinks at Fries and Peanuts and of course I promptly forgot again but it’s o.k. as we had a great time. We tipsily trundled home as our babysitter has a real social life and had plans at nine….

  1. I’ll have to try KoFusion again soon. I was there once, summer 05, and thought it was OK, but I wasn’t sure I could get into the fusion — was the food Italian? Japanese? Korean? French? Couldn’t figure out what I was hungry for! And, I’m not fond of sushi (I know, I know), so . . . However, looking at the menus again just now, I’m thinking I must go back. Some of the things sound pretty wonderful. Happy to hear your dinner was so enjoyable.
