Actual morning conversation with Owen:
Sometime between 6:15 and 6:30 Owen wakes up and calls to me from his room across the hall.
Owen: Mommy, Mommy
Me: mmmmmm?
Owen: I’m sorry I didn’t sing you a lullaby last night
Me: thas okayyy Owen
He trots across the hall and crawls into bed with me.
Owen: Tomorrow is Halloween
Me: Nooo, TODAY is Halloween
Owen’s mouth becomes an O of astonishment
Owen: I love you Mommy. You’re the best mommy in the whole world.
Me: thank you Owen, you’re the best Owen in the whole world
Owen: Wouldn’t it be nice if you never had to go to work or take Grandpa to church and we could just stay here in bed?
Me: mmmhmmmm, it would be nice
Owen: I love Santa Mom. He’s the nicest guy in the whole North Pole
Me: mmmhmmm
Owen: He brings us SO many toys
Owen: Wouldn’t it be nice if we had robots to do things for us? They could drive us places and fix us food and turn on the tv and watch cartoons
Me: You want the robots to watch cartoons for you?
Owen: yes
Owen: I’m going downstairs now Mom
Me: okayyyyy
He wraps his hot burning blanket around himself and happily trots downstairs.
