a snow day and new toys!

A SNOW DAY! A SNOW DAY! A SNOW DAY! I am SO happy. The school districts actually cancelled school today yesterday evening so we knew the boys weren’t going anywhere this morning. Of course the University never cancels but my boss kindly called me this morning to tell me that this is all my fault because I like snow so much…and to stay home. YAY!! I feel like a little kid. Of course tomorrow is Valentine’s Day and we haven’t bought valentines for the boys so I guess we’ll have to make some. I’m not sure we could get out of our long alley today for anything.

To top off my pleasure I have new toys! My brother in law Dennis has a knack for picking perfect presents and he outdid himself again, showing up last night with an aerogarden—a hydroponic set up for growing herbs in your kitchen. I can’t wait!!! The boys were very excited about it—they helped set it up and fill it with water last night. Of course Owen was a little disappointed that the seeds hadn’t sprouted this morning but he was pretty cheerful about it. I can’t wait to have fresh herbs. I miss having them in the winter but have never had good luck with little pots—-I’m lousy at watering but this should take care of that problem for me. Here it is now….I’ll post pictures when my herbs start growing…

We also got a new scanner so we can scan picture sleeves from Ernie’s Big Box of 45’s. I’m supposed to be working at home and I should work on taxes, etc. today but we’ll see….it seems as though you should so something FUN on a snowday!!

  1. I hear you. We just went out and walked around a little, to be out in it. It’s amazing how much snow there is!
So jealous of the aero garden. I’ve seen it on TV and have been SO tempted. Can’t wait to see if it really works like they say it does…
