ANOTHER SNOW DAY!!! The University hadn’t had a snow day since 1979 and now we’ve had two!!! The sun is out now, shining on our 12.9 inches of snow. Ernie is outside attempting to begin Project Alley. sigh. Our driveway is off an alley which goes the entire length of our lot….and the city does not plow alleys. sigh. There is a LOT of alley to shovel. Once I finish this post I guess I better head outside to help.
Last night Leo asked me if I would make French Fries for them. I’ve never made classic French Fries for them—I’ve made the oven-roasted kind but they don’t really approve of those. He said once I made them, they would taste them and hold up scorecards. So I nervously got out a couple of Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and cut them, fried them once in vegetable oil, drained and cooled them and then fried them again. Added a bit of salt and brought the plate, holding two fries for each judge, out to the Fry Stand that Leo had built.
Pardon the blurry pictures—my camera doesn’t like low light.
Our family rooms are the same color. I covet your house.
Oh, and the whole not-plowing-alleys? Total horse manure. Why do we pay taxes? Mr. Chicken spent two hours shoveling the entry to ours. Our driveway is off an alley, too.
Of course, our alley was plowed (badly) by the development’s homeowner’s association, but the damn city plows kept PLOWING THE ENTRYWAY IN!
ARGGHHHHH!
Plus I had to call the PWD and raise holy heck just to get a street plow out here. GRRRR.

I love that paint color—I usually want to repaint every so often but I’ve had that color for around 6 years and still love it!
We got lucky—we shoveled about a third of our alley and then the other person that shares our alley managed to get someone that works for him to plow the rest!!! Much celebrating around here….

Your camera is fine, Cynthia. You need a tripod for those low-light shots. If you had one you could also use it to try some time-lapse shots of the Aerogarden over the next few weeks. I’m glad you like it and I hope it works as-advertised.
