Let’s just say it was a full weekend.  Started out with a birthday party with four, count ’em, four bouncy things.  The guys were ecstatic and it’s always good to see Tifani even if we’re surrounded by tons of kids and other parents and don’t get enough chance to talk. I told Tifani that all her work for the party was worthwhile just so I could see Owen wearing this hat (which he begged for by the way).  Need I say that Leo wasn’t interested in a hat?

Carlos and Jon getting into the spirit of things….  I’m thinking the girls next to them are coming off more dignified….but I guess birthday parties aren’t all about dignity….

Later in the day Leo shows off his alleged playground injury….

Owen puffing away so his tin foil boat would sail….

Then on Sunday, Mom and Dad at Fries and Peanuts.  They look good, don’t they?  Do they LOOK like people two steps away from a nursing home?  Although if you’d seen us trying to get them into the place you might have thought so.  Mom had a wonderful time just being out—Dad dozed off now and then but perked up when he played pool with the guys.

Evidently Owen approves of his grandfather’s shot….

Owen came to church with Dad and me.  He was very happy.  He loves kneeling.  When we have to kneel he just grins the whole time.  He also loves music so he was happy listening to the choir.

As the priest began to get ready for communion Owen leaned over and asked, "oh, are they getting the snacks out now?"

  1. That last comment is great. We’re known by some families as their “heathen” friends. One of my children, who shall remain nameless, once asked in reference to Jesus, “what’s the name of that guy on the T-bar?”

  2. I have told friends both of these stories…they are just so funny! Today in my meditation class for seniors I will tell the Owen story…..it is such a good example of how our minds work!!
