One way to cheer yourself up and realize how incredibly lucky and happy you are…and just how GOOD life can be….is to spend 45 minutes watching your sweet peas in swimming class.
Now look at this picture—not the best picture as the light is hard at the pool at that time of day BUT…..how old does that child look? I think he looks WAY older than 7 and looks far too much like a teenager to be tolerated…..how on earth can my sweet pea be getting so grown up?
Here’s Owen the Kid as he once introduced himself on the phone (to Nancy Baym I believe). Note that he is careful with his color coordination…right down to the goggles. He still spends half his lesson bobbing up and down, smiling and waving at us….
Here’s my little yellow goggled geek, with his beloved swimming teacher Adam:
Ernie happens to be one of the best fathers in the world for many reasons, one of which however is that he takes the time to send in boxtops and checks for a dollar or two to all those back of the cereal/macaroni box offers that all kids beg to do. Here is Owen with his new Spiderman towel courtesy Kraft macaroni and cheese:
and my Leo….he was so happy yesterday that he was volunteering to demonstrate things to the class….Leo…VOLUNTEERING TO DO SOMETHING WHILE OTHERS WATCH….
