Hi Cynthia,
I don’t know if you’ll remember me. I regularly went to see the Vertebrats and hung out with Melissa, Doreen, and Laura (from the Rayguns), as well as, Penny, Pete S., Kathy P. and Dennis, and Larry. I married Rod Coty, who was friends with Doreen and Terry Brink.
Anyway, I was unable to fly in for the Vertebrats reunion last September; but I was online several days ago searching for photos from the reunion, and I came across your blog.
Thank you so much for posting all the pics — I wish I could have been there, and I hope they don’t wait too long before having another. I won’t miss the next one. Wow, it brings back such great memories of fun times and all the dancing at Mabels. Those days are included in what I remember as some of the best times of my life. It’s so nice to hear that the guys and their families are doing well. In one of the pictures, is that Jenny and Kenny’s two boys standing next to Kenny? Wasn’t Jenny pregnant at the privious reunion at the Blind Pig? How time flies!
Before I close, I want to say that you’ve posted some beautiful photos of your boys, your garden, and Maine. Your boys are just gorgeous, and it’s so nice to see you and Ernie again. I hope everything works out for your parents at the assisted living complex. Also, I hope you have a safe and fun trip to Maine.
I’ll keep reading to find out what happens.
Sincerely, Dawn Dohl
oh of course I remember you! What a treat to have you show up here…man, I love my blog for reasons like this. If the picture you asked about is the one I’m thinking of I believe it’s Kenny and Jenny’s son and Becky Youngman’s son—-but I hope someone corrects me if I’m wrong.
Thanks so much for your kind words. Where are you and what are you up to these days?

I’m glad you remember me. I was kind of quiet back then, although that’s changed over the years. Your blog is a nice visual link to C-U. There are a lot of things I miss (it’s been over 5 years since we left Champaign and moved to Vegas) about living there. I even miss seeing the damn squirrels, although they ate most of my tomatoes (I’m sure you can relate); but, I especially miss how green everything is there in the spring/summer. I love seeing your garden photos, because I used to be an avid gardener too; but here, you need a pickax if you want to plant something. Dirt….I really miss soft, black dirt!
Rod and I live about 15 miles northwest of the Las Vegas Strip; so there are still several horse ranches around our area, but it’s developing quickly. We have a ten year old son, Clark, who likes horseback riding and swimming. I recently started up a blog, but there’s not much posted yet. The blog thing is new to me, and I’m muddling through it. It’s been a fun diversion and a good way to procrastinate my schoolwork. I’m a substitute teacher and have the summer off. However, in January of this year, I decided to take online courses and get my Master’s in Special Education. I’m trying to get several classes done this summer, but when I tire of reading about Nevada Teaching Standards or Autism Spectrum Disorders, I like to play around and do more fun stuff on the computer.
I’ll try to get some present day photos of myself and Rod posted, but I’m camera shy and not photogenic. We’re going on vacation soon, so I’ll grit my teeth and let my photo be taken. You can check out what I have so far at http://www.candycigcool.blogspot.com
