The girls need a home….

The girls need a home.  That is Abby above, she was named after
Abigail Adams, wife of President John Adams.  Below is Annie.  Sorry I
don’t have better pictures.  I don’t know who Annie was named after.
She is bigger than Abbie and tends to lumber a bit, but as my mother
says, "she’s got a pretty face…."

They are roughly six years old sisters.  One is declawed and one
isn’t (weird, I know).  They are as devoted to my father as he is to
them and this is the worst part of the move to assisted living.  My
folks really want them to go to the same home.  sigh.

I know it’s a long shot but I thought I would put this post up and
see if anyone knows of someone wanting to give two lonely girls a good
home….

We’re taking Barney, their  third cat, but if we take all three that
would mean we would have six cats and then my husband would leave me
and that would not be a good thing.

  1. Oy, I so wish I could take them! We have three, though, and two are on twice daily meds (one gets an INSULIN SHOT twice a day), so there’s just no way. We can hardly afford the ones we have, it’s getting so expensive.
My mother had a cat and when she died, I brought her to live with us; that made four, and she had to live in our bedroom for a few months till I found her a home, because the other cats were mean to her and she was used to living with just one person. It just wasn’t working! It was so hard. I put an ad in the paper, and took call after call (“free cat to good home”), weeding through the bizarro people until the right one came along. She was a grad student, very wonderful. She moved to Florida after a bit to continue school, and she called to let me know the cat was doing great and everything was fine. I was lucky. My mom would have been very happy to know it. Maybe an ad would work for you . . .
