We had this little village when I was a kid and ohhhhhh, I ADORED it. I’d play for ages with all the little mismatched characters. It’s supposed to be sitting on cotton but the stuff in the box was awful ragged and yellow so I need to replace it. I haven’t had it out in years—-Ernie didn’t even remember it. This year I thought the guys, Owen in particular, might like it. When I unpacked it their faces just lit up. They were beyond excited and it made me so, so happy.
For some reason the king in the back there was always evil and there was usually a romance between the accordian playing snowman and the girl. I think maybe she’s supposed to be an angel but she seems to have lost most of her pipecleaner arms and any wings she might have had. She has also lost her hair but we decided maybe she’d had chemotherapy so Owen made her a little cotton wig.
I also adored this at Christmas – what fun we have had with it over the years. Well, I am losing hair at an alarming rate so I’ll soon join the hairless angel! How is the advent calendar going? Love, Judi

oh I don’t know how we’ll get Owen out of bed in the morning once we’re done with the Advent calendar….right now it’s what makes him pop out of bed every day. Today they got little magnifying glasses which they love….
