Ernie and I went for a long drive in the country today. We just didn't feel like doing anything we should have done. Let's blame it on the warm weather, shall we?
For some strange reason it seems we've never been to Deland, Illinois. I was utterly charmed.
We stopped in an antique shop. Nothing wonderful but really great prices…..we'll definitely stop back. Ernie bought three 45s and I bought the tip of an old weathervane arrow.
There was this place, which did not seem to be open, but did have the Ten Commandments listed on their sign in case you needed a reminder.
Then we saw the cemetery….we drove into it and we're totally floored by this little jewel of a chapel. I kept walking around it taking picture after picture, saying over and over, "it's just a little jewel." It's pristine and beautiful….utterly beautiful.
It made my day.
