Corb Lund, with Bill Poss: More Golden Light

Somehow, when things are really good, I always feel as though there is golden light. You know how it feels when you're surrounded by glowing leaves in the fall? Or surrounded by sunflowers or black eyed Susans? That kind of light. I felt it last night.

What a great evening.  A PACKED HOUSE! Corb Lund was utterly delightful….and surprisingly tall, I might note. He was truly fantastic, had the crowd in his hand and entertained the hell out of us. Great guitar playing, some damned funny songs, and then some heartbreakers too. I really loved his soldier/history songs, and between those, and his songs of the prairie, he gave me a hint of Jason Ringenberg and what I love about his songs on those topics. In fact, he kinda reminded me of a cross between Jason and Peter Cooper, with an extra dash of smart ass. Loved him.

Bill Poss killed it as well. I'd heard him before but never really met him and right away knew he'd be a friend, as well as JJ. Tons and tons of new folks which was exciting. Thanks to everybody that came, and stood or sat on the floor. Everybody was so generous and gracious and kind…and, hopefully, as happy as I was. A million thanks to Corb Lund, Bill Poss and everyone else!

A few pictures here, but lots more over at the Sandwich Life House Concert Facebook page.

The next show, in May, will be a great one too, with more Canadians in the house: Brock Zeman and Blair Hogan!

Oh, and one more thing, don't EVER let me think it's reasonable to do two house concerts within 6 days, ok?
