Ok. Back to work tomorrow, I'm trying to gear up for the avalanche of work. I couldn't sleep for dreams about it all last night. I couldn't sleep at all in fact. Hopefully that means I'll sleep tonight. Ernie and Owen are dealing with Cyril. Leo is Leo-ing, and I am going back and forth between sorting through bills and papers and what not, and every so often reading a bit of a novel. I'm feeling much better. Still have this stuffy nose and sinuses that won't quit but there's been progress so I'll go with that.

We're planning to try to hang our new tv (thank you Dennis) on the wall. To do so I'm trying to clean up the media room. Whenever we have a house concert and there are stacks of paper somewhere in the house, they get thrown in the media room. You can imagine how it builds up. So I sorted through old bills, old school report cards, random photographs and things like my sister's Girl Scout sash. Sigh. I guess I should just throw it out, huh? But it's so Judi. It's got a bunch of badges, neatly sown on. Debbie's only had a few, and me? I dropped out of Brownies, so nary a badge. I'm such a THING person. I know, in this age of decluttering and purging it's seemingly shameful, but I am a thing person. Things speak to me. I was born a collector. Now, of course, we seem to think of collectors as hoarders, as though it's become distasteful and suspect to collect. I don't know. And Judi's Girl Scout sash isn't really a part of a collection…it's just something that I find hard to simply throw in the trash. Well, I got off on a tangent there, but I did sort through lots of paperwork. I have a bag of trash and a stack to be burned, a few things to be put elsewhere, and then the stack of things that are in limbo.

Like this key case of Ernie's mother, Alice, with her dog tag….listing her as the wife of Earl Blackwelder and a Mormon. It's hard for me to throw these things away. Sigh.

  1. Don’t throw that G.S. sash away! I mean…don’t you think you could sell it on Ebay or somewhere? There are G.S. collectors out there…
Though you didn’t grow up in the G.S. Council that’s for this area, a Council office might be interested in it, if you don’t want to sell it.
