We stayed up late (for us) watching election results. A mixed bag, from our point of view. We are thrilled the Democrats have the House, and most of the local races (except for Londrigan, sniff, sniff), but disappointed in others. Leo spent the evening working on his photography class, and Owen was in a sad mood, and went on a room cleaning/reorganization binge in his room. Eventually Ernie and I made our way upstairs; it looked as most things were decided and we were sleepy. Ernie got into bed first, and I stood outside the door rummaging in the drawers in the hallway. Ernie said, "What is that black shape on the wall?" I glanced in and said breezily, "Oh, that's just a shadow." He mused about shadows being misleading. I came in, and sat on my edge of the bed, glanced at the wall, and started laughing. It was not a shadow. The light from the moon and the streetlights shone in just enough to let me see the 1980 Helmut Newton poster of David Lee Roth, from Women and Children First. I laughed and laughed and laughed. Once I could stand up I went down to Owen's room. He grinned, and said, "Oh, yeah, you like that?" I assured him I did.

Something to think about: I did sleep better last night than I have in a week or two.

I woke up to this:
