I had the nicest day yesterday. Woke up early, read for awhile, and then dozed back off. Owen had texted me from work the night before, asking if he could get his ear pierced on Saturday. I said sure and asked for recs on Facebook. No Regrets Tattoo was the clear winner. So, after a very late breakfast of a blueberry-greens-avocado smoothie and a little bit of grass fed beef, we set off. The place was hopping and they couldn't have been nicer. The woman that did Owen's ear was lovely and listening to him tell her that he wanted his ear pierced because his father had one….well, I'm just a complete sucker for that boy. We were both happy and giggly. He even let me hold his hand as we walked back to the car…probably because I paid. We headed home, but I didn't want it to end so I suggested we pick up the two other guys and go have lunch. Ernie and Leo agreed, so we scooped them up and headed over to Fries and Peanuts. I'd eaten late so I didn't have lunch but they all did and it felt so nice to sit and talk with them. We sat in our favorite corner booth. I reminded the boys how they used to bring some of their little trucks and use them to shovel the peanuts….or they used to bring an assortment of Lego to play with. I asked them if they remembered when, if there wasn't a booth available, we had to leave because a certain someone wouldn't sit in the chairs. We all laughed and then a little boy walked by with some Lego.
A good day.
