The Big Boy made her way to Ogden, Utah for the first time in many, many years. Here's a phone picture from Ernie as he and Leo followed along. Traffic was reportedly crazy, I read there were traffic backups up to 12 miles long. Once the Big Boy and the 844 arrived they were whisked away from public view, to ready themselves for the nose to nose recreation of the golden spike tomorrow.
Ernie and Leo spent the rest of the afternoon wandering Ogden, taking pictures for me because they love me, and they know they owe me. Honestly, today, when I talked to them, it was the first day I realized that as much as I hate not being there, I probably wouldn't have been up for it physically. Both Ernie, AND Leo, sound exhausted. It will be good for them to have a few lighter days, even if poor Leo has to squeeze in his finals. Oh, and they also hit a few record stores and both came away with some things. My sweet peas.
We couldn't find anyplace affordable in Ogden…places are sold out…so they're staying about half an hour away in an Airbnb. Not all bad though, a little while ago Ernie texted me to say it was raining, and this was the view.
