Yes, these posts are out of order, but I feel like doing it that way, so there. We woke up Monday. It was grey and we REALLY didn't want to head back to real life. I did some work on my laptop while Ernie watched the news. Finally, we were forced to admit that we had to leave. There were a couple of other signs but I didn't feel like bothering. Not like me, I know. Instead, we went for our last diner breakfast for a while (between cheese and diner breakfasts Wisconsin almost killed me). We'd gotten a recommendation the night before from a bartender so we headed to Dita's. I gotta say, Wisconsin seems to REALLY do Christmas. Even the dive bars we went to were decorated like crazy. It was delightful.
Lovely breakfast, lovely server, crazy good Christmas decorations….and a little plane that flew around the top of the tree with a little banner that says 'Believe.'
Drove older roads until Rockford where there was a sign I HAD to stop and get. Well worth the detour. I mean, just LOOK at that thing!
Then we hopped on the highway and drove home through the grayness. Got home, dropped our stuff off at the house and headed over to the Cancer Center. At least it was decorated. #smallthings
