That plate right there is a victory because I really didn’t feel like fixing dinner. I forced myself to get up and start though as I knew if I didn’t we’d end up snacking or something instead. Ernie seared the salmon perfectly in a cast-iron skillet…just a bit of olive oil, salt and pepper. The salad is a mix of greens and arugula with a dressing made of orange juice, lime juice, cumin, a dash of honey, salt, pepper and olive oil (gorgeous Grovestone olive oil….thanks to Carrie and Bill ❤️). It was lovely. Drizzled some on the salmon as well. The 1870’s Palmette tumbler and the 1830-50ish strawberry diamond lacy salt are in the picture just because they make me happy.

Our tree doesn’t have nearly as many ornaments as it usually does, but I think I’m ok with that. Ernie’s putting a few more ornaments on the tree as I write and I’m supposed to help as soon as I finish writing this. We’re listening to the Tom Mason Christmas album (highly recommended) and it feels like a pretty good afternoon.

Well, hell. I had several other things I wanted to write about but they have fled my mind. So I will leave you with this and put a few ornaments on the tree.
