All the rumbles of thunder and flashes of lightning made me so happy last night. I went to bed early and read until I realized that I was in that half dream state and my book wasn’t making sense anymore. It felt sooo good.

This morning I have been trying to secure our final escape from Walgreen’s Pharmacy. I think we’re good with the last of the prescriptions. Then a phone appointment with Health Alliance. I think Ernie is hitting the nadir of his chemo as he’s very tired and sleepy today, a bit sick to his stomach.

I’m not sure what dinner will be. I’ve got some gluten free pasta…maybe with zucchini? Mmmm. I’ll have to think about this.

Last night we had chicken thighs. I tried a marinade for a few hours, made up of mayo, lime juice, salt and chopped ginger. I bought a little jar of chopped ginger but I gotta say, I used what I thought was a LOT and it didn’t come out terribly gingery, or lime-y for that matter. However it was very tasty. Sliced tomato (thank you, Heather!) and some simply shredded and sautéed zucchini. I did salt the zucchini and let it drain for a bit before squeezing out as much liquid as possible. I should have used the spiralizer (or cut out the seeds parts) as that does make it less watery and more flavorful. I’m not complaining though, it was a delightful dinner. Or supper, as you will.

We’ve been doing a bit better with cooking. The other day we had some salmon and I made one of my little faux succotash mixtures. Corn, green beans and tomato…I love that combo this time of year.

Last, but certainly not least, I don’t think I ever showed you my birthday drawing from Eva. It’s our last drawing of Bob and the fact that she had to tape paper over his tail makes it truly perfect. I love it.
