We drove past this farm north of German Valley, Illinois and it intrigued me enough that we turned around so I could grab a few pictures. What fascinated me was that there was what appeared to be an earlier house attached to it. Was the second house built like that right next to an older house or was an older house moved alongside later to add more room to a Victorian house?
I tried to find some info on it but got nowhere apart from ownership info, etc. I reached out to the local historical society and they gave me a phone number to call. Eh, you know me and phone calls. I avoid them at all costs, so I suppose I will just continue to wonder.
Neil Young’s Wonderin’ often goes through my head on these trips but of course the song isn’t Wanderin’ as I wish it was. It works on this post though!
