I used to think I couldn’t start celebrating Christmas until WELL after Thanksgiving. That was before life starting going by faster and faster though. Now, as soon as Thanksgiving is over….game on.
One of my favorite things is small towns that have Christmas trees in the middle of an intersection. For some reason this just fills me with joy. Christmas trees in the middle of a town square count as well.
I know Gibson City and Paxton usually have one…sounds like I should check out Philo. Where else have you seen Christmas trees in the street???? Or other small town decorations we should see?
At the top is my first one sighted this year, in St. Elmo, Illinois. Below is Paxton’s tree from a few years back, as well as Freeport’s Noel banner.

Onward. To Christmas.
