Random notes for the New Year

I kind of dropped the ball on Instagram this year, which is a shame as I enjoy it. A combination of health issues, stress and less wandering just threw me off. Who know what wanders 2023 will hold however. These are my top Instagram posts in order of views:

On another Instagram note I recently found a picture of mine, a somewhat lousy scan of an old slide, on another profile with no attribution. I know this happens constantly but I was still startled. I just left a comment saying that I wish they’d given me credit. The reason I was looking for it was because of this:

One of my all time favorite drive-ins fell to development recently. Broke my heart. You should have seen it, with its neon notes and its Cruise-In sign….sigh….

Here’s my original shot from the mid 80’s. Beautiful, beautiful drive-in. So architectural…the building becomes the sign as well as everything else. #learningfromlasvegas

Something I found rather entertaining: at the happy hour we had before Christmas we had bought some beer and wine, as well as Le Croix, etc. We were both really fading by the time people were getting here. We asked Leo to get ice on his way home which he did. I somehow assumed that Ernie had already put the beer in the cooler and that Leo would just add ice. Several folks thoughtfully brought Ernie some N/A beer as he can’t drink. The next day he was trying to find a N/A beer and they seemed to be mostly gone. It turns out we never put the real beer out so everyone drank N/A beer and we had a cooler of ice. It just makes me giggle.

Trinity and Owen’s friend Delsie came over and cut my and Trinity’s hair. They did a fabulous job and it just felt so GOOD. As I told them, I’m not the best at self care. A good way to start the New Year, thanks Delsie. ❤️
