Sooooo…on Friday somebody called, Barnes, Carle, hell, I don’t know. Anyway, all those hours of sitting there last week and the infusions didn’t raise his platelets more than a hair. He went back in this morning for more platelets and here is the karma part. I didn’t go. Sigh. I know, I know. I feel so guilty. HOWEVER. He got POD FOUR! Did he call me? Did he take a picture? No, no, no! I’m not sure if Pod Four was punishment for me or a reward for Ernie. I guess either works.
Geesh.
He came home and as we sat talking both our phones pinged. New results in his Carle MyCarle. His platelets were barely up and nowhere close to what they need to do the Pluvicto. Damn it. Sure enough, a bit later he noticed he had a voicemail (that man and phone volume…). Barnes was calling to cancel this week’s treatment. They said they would just add another round at the end.
Sigh.
That means right now he is on hold with both his Keytruda and Pluvicto. Needless to say, I don’t like that whatsoever but then again it’s good for his body to have some time to heal.
Eh.
At least he’s feeling pretty perky. Perky mustard men are the best.
Onward.
