Yesterday we were antsy so we went to Bloomington and had an ice cream cone. Times change, eh? I was adventurous with my cone: lemon and strawberry swirl. Man, it just did not work for me. The lemon part was ok (I LOVE lemon) but awfully sweet and for whatever reason I hated the strawberry. I thought I’d get used to it so gave it a few more licks and then sadly looked at Ernie. He kindly got me a vanilla cone which was good but particularly He got a vanilla malt which he liked. My vanilla cone was good but I was not euphoric. It had a particularly artificial taste. Don’t get me wrong, I love fake vanilla. Maybe it was just too sweet?

We need to come up with a rating system for ice cream cones. Maybe number of cones…best being 5? Hmmm, five may not give enough room to include nuances like setting, signs, surrounding buildings and staff. Because I gave Sidney Dairy Barn and Dairy Queen both four cones when clearly SDB should be higher than DQ. I’ll have to give this more thought.
