Ernie and I are going through a bit of a rough time right now with his health and various challenges that go along with it. I've taken a leave of absence from my work and some friends have set up a GoFundMe and a benefit concert with three beloved artists that have played at Sandwich Life House Concerts before. ⁣
Somewhere on the drive to Lubec, Maine a long time ago.
Forgive the bad lighting. A quick shot from Pendleton, SC back when my sister was still teaching at Clemson. It was so fun exploring with Judi.
My days of wandering have become few and far between...almost non-existent. I have hopes that my husband's newest treatment will be easier to tolerate so I am hoping for the future. I miss posting though so I will pull up some old things for now. ⁣
A hyper local wander. In our yard. Ernie took it and it took me a while to figure out where it was!
An old wander, back in 2017. I adore this bridge. I was so happy in that moment that I even let Ernie take a picture of me. Afterward, we went to the King Tower Cafe, admired the sign, and ate lunch. Link in bio for a blog post about it.
I've been quiet of late. I can't believe my last post was in December. I had surgery in January which has kept me homebound so I just haven't done any wanders and I never tend to post older pictures. I dug out a few though. We stopped here with the boys once on Memorial Day, after visiting the cemetery with our parents' graves near there. It had a wonderfully intact 1970's interior right down to the dusty hanging plastic plants. I had a remarkably greasy, but delicious, patty melt. The next time we drove by it was gone.⁣ link in bio for an old post from that day.
It’s been a somewhat challenging week. This Christmas tree, and, of course, Bob the cat, really help. #christmas #manxcatsofinstagram
Before we spent the night in Little Falls, (last post) we wanted to go out for a drink and get some dinner to bring back to the hotel. It was Columbus Day and not a place was open in Little Falls that we could find. We took off toward the next town and came across Dopp's, a restaurant and bar in an old house. We sat in the bar and it was pretty perfect. The guy next to us had won some money and was playing the jukebox loud and we approved of his song choices. He bought us a drink or two before we grabbed some food to go. A lovely evening. #smalltowns #ruralamerica
One of our last nights on our Maine trip, we stopped in Little Falls, NY. I did a lousy job of taking pictures on this trip but I like this little shot out the window of our hotel. It was on the third floor of a stone building and had these wonderful deep windowsills. Below the window was a rocky stream. Every time I woke in the night I could hear the water rushing.
I've been too busy to post of late. I also need to get out and take some more pictures for the good of my mental health!! For now, here is a nice old sign from downtown Mansfield, Ohio.
Passing by in Ilion, New York.
I think it was near Herkimer, NY, but as always, my documentary skills are lacking....
Reportedly not abandoned. Some of the family that originally ran the hotel still live there.
Soups of the week. One Soup du jour and two soups of the day. #soupdujour #diner #soupoftheday
Meandering home from Maine, we came across Bob-O-Link Liquors in Cambridge City, IN.

Don’t know how I didn’t see those wires when I took this. Distracted I guess. Dennysville, Maine ❤️ #_seekers
